The 'Yangcheng Charity Month' series of events in Guangzhou kick off

September 5th this year marks China's ninth China Charity Day, and every September is also Guangzhou's "Yangcheng Charity Month." On August 31st, the ninth China Charity Day in Guangdong and the Guangzhou "Yangcheng Charity Month" themed activities officially began.

As in previous years, the popular Beijing Road Charity Carnival is back. Citizens can enjoy shopping along Beijing Road Pedestrian Street and Xihu Road Square while participating in charity activities, creating a heartwarming "City Walk" filled with love.

The Beijing Road Charity Carnival is one of the highlights of the annual Charity Month activities. Launched for the first time in 2016, it has been successfully held six times and has become an important platform for promoting widespread public participation in charity.

This year's Carnival features several special areas, including charity performances, interactive experiences, achievement displays, and a charity market. As visitors stroll through the historic pedestrian street, they can enjoy shopping while also experiencing the warmth and impact of charity.

Ms. Zhangpraises this innovative model of "shopping and having fun while doing charity." She believes that spreading charity in high-traffic areas allows people to learn about it comprehensively. She likens this outreach to sowing seeds of goodwill, which will eventually yield more fruits of love, and she finds it very positive.

Feng Xian, Deputy Director of the Guangzhou Charity Service Center, stated that over 100 charity events are set to launch, aiming to engage the public in hands-on participation. During Charity Month,Guangzhou will feature a variety of events. Additionally, community-themed cultural activities by local volunteers and charity sales to support people with disabilities will continue, bringing warmth and light to the city.

Guangzhou's charitable sector is thriving, with numerous organizations flourishing throughout the city. Currently, Guangzhou has 245 charity organizations, 1,106 charity spaces, 176 community charity (volunteer service) stations, and 2,995 community charity funds. The total funds raised amount to 138 million yuan, achieving 100% coverage of villages and communities.

邊逛街邊做慈善！廣州“羊城慈善月”系列活動啓幕

今年9月5日是我國第九個“中華慈善日”，每年9月也是廣州的“羊城慈善月”。8月31日，2024年廣東省第九個“中華慈善日”暨廣州市“羊城慈善月”主題宣傳活動正式拉開序幕。

和往年一樣，備受市民喜愛的北京路公益慈善嘉年華活動如約而至，市民可在北京路步行街、西湖路廣場一帶邊逛街邊做慈善，來一場充滿愛的慈善“CityWalk”。

北京路公益慈善嘉年華是每年慈善月宣傳活動的重頭戲之一，2016年首次開展，至今已成功舉辦6屆，成爲倡導人人蔘與、全民慈善的重要舞臺。

今年的北京路公益慈善嘉年華活動，特設慈善義演、互動體驗、成果展示、公益集市等多個專區。遊客們漫步於歷史悠久的步行街時，不僅能夠享受購物的樂趣，更能深切感受慈善帶來的溫暖與力量。

市民張女士爲這種“邊逛邊玩還能做公益”的創新模式點贊。“在人流最集中的地方傳播公益，能夠讓人們全方位地瞭解慈善。這種傳播就像播撒種子，種下善意的種子，結出更多愛的果實，我覺得非常好。”

“將有100多項慈善活動蓄勢待發，吸引廣大市民近距離接觸、參與慈善。”廣州市慈善服務中心副主任馮現表示，廣州在“羊城慈善月”期間將推出“點亮一盞燈溫暖一座城”、第八屆慈善“公衆開放日”等豐富多彩的慈善活動。此外，廣州文藝志願者走進（基層）主題文藝惠民、“點亮心燈”義賣募捐助殘等主題活動也將繼續開展，讓慈善之光溫暖羊城。

據介紹，廣州市慈善事業蓬勃發展，慈善組織遍地開花。截至目前，廣州共有慈善組織245個，創建慈善空間1106個，建立社區慈善（志願服務）工作站176個，設立社區慈善基金2995個，籌集善款1.38億元，實現村（居）100%全覆蓋。
